The Sustainability in Action Group (SiAG) is a formally recognised working group of Glasgow School of Art reporting to the Executive Group.
Remit
Its remit is to develop, inform and oversee the implementation of the School’s Sustainability Strategy.
In order to fulfil that role, the Group may request information from all relevant Schools and departments and will review performance on sustainability against the Key Performance Indicators, Performance Indicators and other targets set by the School in the Sustainability Action Plans
Membership.
The membership of the Group aims to ensure representation from all areas of the School. If you wish to be part of the SiAG please contact Lorraine: l.garner@gsa.ac.uk.

Reporting
The Group will report termly to the Executive Group who will advise on subsequent reporting to relevant academic and other Committees of the School and of its Board of Governors.
The 5 Year Plan:
Over the next 5 years the SAG aims to address the following areas:
- To maintain a management system and resource allocation to ensure delivery of the strategy.
- To identify the challenges and risks that arise from Climate Change; and to respond to these in a positive, creative and active way.
- To reduce our contribution to Climate Change by means of both measurable and demonstrable activities for reduction of carbon emissions with specific goals for reduction in energy use, waste production, travel and resource consumption.
- To ensure that our staff and students have the necessary awareness, skills and support to respond positively and creatively to the existing and future challenges of climate change.
- To undertake research and knowledge exchange activities that respond to the challenges of Climate Change.
- To communicate our principles and progress to staff and students, governors, and external agencies; and enable a dialogue across the institution concerning our strategy and goals.
